Parker Jewish Institute Hosts The Indian Cultural Unit Plaque Dedication

The Parker Jewish Institute is proud of its Indian Cultural Unit, serving East and West Indian older adults in Nassau and Queens Counties. The dedicated unit provides specialized cultural care for Indian patients, in the region. The unit is staffed by physicians and nursing staff, who are fluent in Indian Languages, including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi and Punjabi. The unit features a home-like environment, with spiritual and cultural décor, activities, religious services and entertainment that includes movies, newspapers and music.

On Thursday, September 12, 2024, Parker honored the Indian Cultural Committee founding members, Saroj Shah, M.D., and I.C. Shah, M.D., with the Indian Cultural Unit plaque dedication. Parker's legacy in providing superior compassionate care, is due to the leadership within the Institute and the community. Parker and the East and West Indian community are grateful to the Shah Family, for their vision and dedication.
