Parker's Indian Cultural Committee Hosts a Family Day Celebration

On Sunday, October 15, 2023, Parker Jewish Institute’s Indian Cultural Committee hosted its first annual Family Day Celebration. Held in Parker’s auditorium, the event was a major success!
The entertainment centered on spirituality and importance of family, was endless. Mrs. Anju Sharma, a professor and prominent medical entrepreneur, recited poems she wrote about her family, father, mother and siblings. Children from the Chinmaya Mission Bal Vihar, took the stage to recite the “Hanuman Chalisa” and verses from the holy book of Bhagavada Gita. Dr. Neelima Phatak, a retired physician, sang areligious song and a famous 1957 Bollywood song. Mr. Raj Dhingra, a graduate in Hindustani classical signer, was another musical performer audience enjoyed. Esha Misra, a trained dancer in the Indian dance style of Kathak, enthralled audience members with her breath taking performance.
