Parker Hosts Smartphone Training Workshop

Monday, January 27, 2025

The rapid speed of advancements in our smartphones can be both exhilarating and frustrating. Though built to make our lives simpler, the innumerable features can easily become overwhelming. For many adults, the anxiety of operating their smartphone, deters them from exploring its countless social benefits. That’s why Parker Jewish Institute’s Therapeutic Recreation Department is hosting a series of classes to teach the basic functions of smartphones to our patients/residents.

This interactive in-person training series covers the basic functions of both Android and iPhone smartphones. Patients/residents learn about mode settings as well as how to personalize their screen, add and edit their contact menu, take pictures and videos, and discover apps that interest them. In this series, everyone is encouraged to ask questions. The instructor is also happy to assist in the set-up of new smartphones that participants may have received during the holidays.
